Applications for a place in our Reception Class

We look forward to welcoming our new children into the Reception class in September. Meanwhile, if you would like your child to join us either as part of our Reception cohort in September 2024 or as an in-year admission into any year group, you will find more information below.

In-Year Applications

An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places.  An application should be made to the local authority by completing the in-year admissions application form. A hard copy of the application form can be obtained by contacting the school office at officemanager@sjc.oxon.sch.uk or by telephoning 01993 841240.

Completed application forms should be returned to St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Lawton Avenue, Carterton, OX183JY.

Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria, as set out in the relevant admission policy, will be applied. The full admission arrangements can be accessed from below or by contacting the school office to request a hard copy. Parents are advised to read the admission arrangements carefully before making their application.

If there are no places available, your child can be added to the waiting list at your request. Further information relating to this will be included in the letter sent from the school advising you of the outcome of your application.  Please see the admission policy for more details.

You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing as soon as possible and no later than 15 school days of receipt,

You have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel if your application is unsuccessful.

Following the requirement for a school to consult upon their forthcoming admission arrangements every 7 years as laid out in School Admissions Code. 

A consultation in relation to our school's Admissions Arrangements for 2024 – 25 was carried out between 14th December 14th 2022 and 25th January 2023
