Young Leaders

We are very proud of our Young Leaders at St Joseph's.  They have opportunities to shape their school, ensure that their voice is heard and be instrumental in making changes to ensure that they have the best opportunities possible.

Mini-Vinnies

Children in Key Stage 2 have volunteered for our 'Mini Vinnies' group at St Joseph's again this year.
Mini Vinnies is the children's section of St Vincent de Paul Society.

We meet every two weeks and we enjoy praying together, sharing scriptures and organising ways in which we can help others in our local community and beyond.

We provided the ingredients and made soup together at school on the Friday and served it after Mass on Saturday 12th October and during February for the Sacramental Mass for the Sick.

One parishioner said...'it was the best lunch, not just the delicious soup but the joyfulness of the servers was wonderful too!'

Our Mini-Vinnies had the privilege of singing at the Mass in Westminster Cathedral for over 600 other Mini-Vinnies from all over the country - we were very, very proud!

Science Ambassadors

Our Science Ambassadors drive science capital throughout the school.  They support teachers with planning and meet fortnightly to discuss relevant issues as well as plan and investigate scientific experiments.

Our Prefects are chosen from Year 6 (Eucalyptus Class). Children wanting to apply for the prefect role will demonstrate their ability to meet the requirements of the job description listed below and for their ability to provide sound and even-handed leadership to the whole school.  They perform important duties such as showing prospective parents around the school and supporting parent teacher events.

School Council Members

Playground Leaders

Our Year 5 pupils are chosen for Playground Leaders - they are trained by an external provider and lead playground games on a rota for all age groups during lunchtime play.
