Vines - Year 2 and 3
“I am the vine; you are the branches.”- John 15:5
Welcome to Vines Class, where we are looking forward to an exciting year filled with fun, friendship and lots of learning, as our children grow in confidence, develop new skills and flourish together.
Our class name is inspired by the words of Jesus in John 15:5: “I am the vine; you are the branches.” Just as the branches of a vine grow together and are connected, we recognise that each member of our class is important. Together, we support one another to grow in knowledge, confidence, friendship and faith.
This year, we have some exciting trips planned, including visits to our local bakery and the Science Museum, as well as outdoor trips where we can explore animals, habitats and the world around us. We can’t wait to see the children’s curiosity and enthusiasm grow throughout the year!
Homework
Homework is sent home on Fridays and returned to school the following Friday. This includes:
- Weekly spellings to practise.
- TTRS and Numbots maths activities.
- Regular reading.
- A termly project linked to our current topic.
We encourage children to read as often as possible at home to help develop their confidence and love of reading.
Keep up with our learning!
We use ClassDojo and our school social media to share exciting moments from our classroom, celebrate the children’s achievements and showcase some of the wonderful learning taking place. Keep an eye out for updates throughout the year!
We are looking forward to a fantastic year of learning, exploring and growing together in Vine Class.
Rooted in our Catholic faith and inspired by our school mission, Fidelis in Servitio – Faithful in Service, we are looking forward to a fantastic year of learning, exploring, serving and growing together in Vines Class.
