Palms – Reception and Year 1

Welcome to Palms Class, where curiosity, kindness and a love of learning are at the heart of everything we do.

As a Reception and Year 1 mixed class, we learn, play and grow together in a nurturing and supportive environment. We value each child as an individual, encouraging them to develop confidence, independence and a strong sense of belonging within our class community.

We provide a rich and balanced curriculum that inspires children to explore, question and discover. From phonics, reading and mathematics to science, art, music, RE and the wider curriculum, children are given opportunities to develop knowledge, creativity and a wide range of skills. We encourage children to make connections between their learning and the world around them, developing a genuine curiosity and love of learning.

Learning extends beyond the classroom through our wonderful outdoor spaces, where children can explore, investigate and develop their understanding through purposeful play, physical activity and hands-on experiences.

We are passionate about developing a love of books and reading, encouraging children to use stories to spark their imagination, explore new ideas and discover new worlds.

Rooted in our Catholic faith and inspired by our school mission, Fidelis in Servitio – Faithful in Service, we encourage our children to care for one another, their community and the world around them.
