Olives - Year 3 and 4
“But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the steadfast love of God forever and ever.” -Psalm 52:8
Welcome to Olives Class, where we learn, grow and flourish together!
We are proud to call ourselves a family. The olive tree is a beautiful symbol of peace, strength and faithfulness. Just like an olive tree grows strong through deep roots and careful nurturing, we want every child in Olives Class to develop strong roots in their learning, relationships and faith.
Through our exciting and ambitious curriculum, enriched by our Catholic Social Teaching, we provide children with a wonderful breadth of learning opportunities. We encourage them to understand themselves, appreciate their local community and explore the wider world – recognising that they have an important voice and can make a positive difference within it.
In Olives, we believe that the very best learning is active, purposeful and memorable. You might find us carrying out fieldwork in Science and Geography, investigating with practical resources in Maths, becoming characters from our favourite stories, creating and designing, debating big questions or taking our learning beyond the classroom and into our beautiful school grounds and local community.
We particularly value opportunities to make real-life connections with our learning. Our children are encouraged to be curious, ask questions, solve problems, collaborate and challenge themselves. There is always something exciting happening in Olives!
Most importantly, we want every child to feel known, valued and proud of what they achieve. Inspired by our school mission, Fidelis in Servitio – Faithful in Service, we learn that our gifts are not only for ourselves, but can be used in service of others.
Enjoy exploring our photographs for a little glimpse into life in Olives Class. Better still, come and visit us! Our children, class ambassadors and Chaplaincy Team would be delighted to welcome you and share some of the wonderful learning taking place.
In Olives, we grow strong roots together – in learning, in confidence, in faith and in service.
